Most people think of Nascar when they hear about Watkins Glen – but we got to see a totally different side of this town in upstate New York. As I searched through Yelp reviews to find the best place to go in the Finger Lakes Region, I found that Watkins Glen State Park had amazing reviews, with people using the word “spellbound” to describe the sights. We were not disappointed.

The park was wooded, and the campsite was nice – not much different than what we’d found at other state parks on this trip. But then the ranger told us that there was a short hike nearby where we could see some waterfalls. Check out the pictures to see what we found on our little hike. Amazing. I felt like we were in another country – it was the last thing I expected to see in upstate NY. How have I never heard of this place before?!

No need for highlights here – we spent 2 days hiking, in awe of the gorge. If you are ever in this area, it’s absolutely worth a visit.
